¶ Anime Hair Tags

Compare 11 multicolored-hair tags, 93 hair-style tags, 10 top-of-head tags and 28 bangs tags. Every group uses the same base portrait prompt and settings on Nova Anime v18. Within a group, only the tested tag changes.

Each group starts with a picture without a tag, for comparison, then lists its tags from A to Z. Copy a tag to use it in your own prompt, or choose Try to open MonAI with that picture's full prompt and settings. Select a picture to see it full size.

¶ How the pictures were made

Each prompt puts one tag into the same base prompt:

It ends with the Nova Anime v18 quality tags:

masterpiece, best quality, amazing quality, very aesthetic, absurdres

Every picture uses the same negative prompt:

photorealistic, realistic, 3d, glitch, deformed, ugly, disfigured, lowres, bad anatomy, bad hands, fewer digits, extra digit, missing fingers, displeasing, (bad quality, worst quality:1.2), signature, watermark, bad AI generated

The base prompt sets no hair length, color or bangs, so each tag decides the hair on its own. Each tag was rendered once. The portrait framing cuts off some styles, and a few tags show little change. Some change more than the hair: wolf cut adds animal ears, and a few tags change the outfit or other details. With another prompt, seed or model, a tag can look different.

¶ Where the tags come from

The tag names come from the Multicolored hair, Hair styles, Hair – Top of head and Hair – Bangs / Front of head lists of TagExplorer, which reference Danbooru's hair color and hair styles tag groups. Hair Styles includes texture tags such as curly hair and wavy hair. Top of head retains oseledets, which TagExplorer marks as ineffective; its single result is kept for comparison. Single-color hair tags and hair-length groups are not included in this batch.
